Story-Telling!(4)

Monday, June 16, 2008

You can't say I always wanted to pay a visit to Changkat Changi Band, not that I hate you guys there, but it's something I find that is little importance to me. However, Epiphany is coming real soon later this week and so I thought maybe it's time to visit CCSS Band for a while. So I gathered Wei Jie and James to go together. Unfortunately, Shaun and Farhan couldn't join us.

Apparently the Band had changed rooms with some other CCA group then we ended up in some kind of dance room. When we first arrive in the room, after we greeted Mr Pisit, he told us "Later you go through the pieces with the percussion ok?". All of us were quite surprised because we only came to visit, not to tutor them. Hmm...Maybe this is what friend players do? So we agreed to help out. They were playing La Macarena, arranged by Sir. Great saxophone solo by Sir, by the way. It was a great experience because it opened my eyes to different band's culture.

Later on, Su Juen asked me and James whether want to go to Swee Lee to buy some shakers. Why not? So Su Juen met us at the MRT Station and off we went on the train. We reached Bugis and walked quite a while where we arrived at Swee Lee. It was an amazing place filled with a lot of exotic and exquisite instruments. Honestly, it's actually more amazing than Yamaha. Thanks Su Juen for bringing us there!

Later we headed down to Popular Shop to do some window-shopping. I was wandering on my own and found myself in CD-Rama 2 floors above and browsed through other discs. James was hungry after a while so we went to some Bugis Mall to eat KFC. We were actually pondering over, KFC or Pastamania or Yoshinoya. I had myself a chicken wrap, James had Zinger Burger and not-hungry Su Juen, who at first declined the second piece of chicken, had 2-piece Chicken Meal.

Lastly, after going through Bugis Street, we took a bus down to Esplanade where we hung out at the library. Su Juen and James were going through some Ensemble pieces and Marimba duets while I was sitting alone, trying to sort out my clouded mind. After borrowing some pieces to try out, we went to the roof top where many people were there to relax and have fun with their friends. After buying some drinks and snacks, we played Truth or Dare on the roof itself. Hmm...You can say that I uncovered some shocking truths about Su Juen and James. We continued playing at the MRT Station at City Hall where we met Sir's tutor and we said "Hi" to him.

I'm so sorry what happened today Su Juen and James. I didn't mean to be an asshole for not talking. It's not emo ok? If I emo, I would tell my problem to you guys already. I would be like a sobbing child, but I wasn't today. It was like what James said, outcast. Then from this thought leads to another then to another. In short, it was my imagination running wild. Aye you can't really blame me, it is in my director personality. I like imaginations running wild, thinking of possibilities that could happen but in this case, it was the wrong usage. From the thoughts, it affects my mood. Hey I'm a musician right? If musicians are not emotional, they can go to hell already. So I'm really sorry what happened...Next time when it happens, I'll try to do an emotional check on myself. And remind me too! Thanks!

So that's all for today...It's 1:11am according to my watch. Bye bye...Hope tomorrow's practice is a great joy..
