Happy Heroes Day!

Friday, August 31, 2007

To start off this post, I would like to wish all teachers a meaningful and joyful Teachers' Day!

Morning, after assembly, Kwai Yuen, Taufik, me and Zhao De went to 3E3 Classroom and played "Big Two" as we had nothing much to do. We played many rounds and most of the time I won. Later we went down to see what was happening. Wen Yong, Gary and malay dudes were at the field playing football as the business wasn't doing very well..sad, man..3E6 had car-wash to do while 3E7 was doing a song dedication to the teachers and my class sold...drinks..I had to wear some stupid cardboard over me and walk around. As Zheng Qian had said, I do look like a fucking idiot.

The concert, you could say it's a sucess. In my opinion, 3E5 song performance was the best of all the performances that the other classes had put. Some band, I mentioned before in my blog, performed Thnks Fr Th Mmrs. It wasn't as horrible as the rehearsal but I was still cringing at the way the bloody lead vocal singer sang...CAN SOMEBODY BETTER REPLACE THE SINGER?!

Anyway, school finally ended. I managed to persuade Xiang Chou and Wei Lin to come with me to Vivo City as the Heroes World Tour is held there. My God...When we arrived, the whole place was already very crowded and we had no choice but to go the top to check, but it was also very crowded. The whole place was literally swarming with loads of people but that did not deter me from leaving. The Heroes arrived at Vivo at 3:45pm, 45 minutes later than the time they are supposed to come. But who cares?!

Greg Grunberg, Masi Oka, Ali Larter and Sendhil Ramurthy came. Many fans were screaming they lungs out and those secondary school girls was shouting "Masi Oka!!!" repeatedly. I thought this only happened in the US, now I know it also happens in Singapore too. When I saw Masi, I wanted to shake his hands, but he didn't saw my hands and I was so close to touching..Never in my whole life I had been so close to a foreign celebrity, My gosh, Greg Grunberg is really a big-sized guy. Sendhil and Ali were so cool too.

This is probably a day I can never forget. Meeting celebrities and having Teachers' Day celebration on the same day seemed so fun!

SOBS, I was bullied by Zhao De's girlfriend. Say no more...sobs

100th Post

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

Yatta! Finally, I've come to write my 100th post for my blog. WOOHOOO! This is just a random post without a topic.

Nowadays, I've been watching those zombie movies such as 28 Weeks Later and Shaun of The Dead. LOL, I don't know why but I like the way the action was handled out in the 28WL. Plus the scary and depressing theme song to the movie, you get one really horrifying movie. Shaun of The Dead was more on funny than frightening as the jokes are plenty. The violence was not all that gory and it had a few jump-out-of-seat parts. But I liked the jokes! Woooohoooooo!! I'm zombified, baby!

Yesterday me and Elaine stayed back to do some work and I consulted her for some A.M. problems and it was also the rehearsal day for Teacher's Day. We didn't do much work as we were spending the time racking our brains over some question that was unable to do. After some matters, we then took a bus home.

Today I was dragged by Farhan to take care of the drumset in the hall as today was, again, Teachers' Day rehearsal. My class's group sang a song by Secondhand Serenade and I can say that it is pretty good. Another band sang Thnks Fr Th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy and it was horrible as hell, the guitar and drums were quite good, but the vocals was totally way off. The singer had no sense of rhythem and couldn't sing on the pitch, he keep missing it, and not by a little, it's like an octave higher than the original. My ears nearly bleed from it. Oh God...

Yay!!! I passed my physics paper!! And both my EM and AM papers!! I'm so happy! But I think I flunked mother tongue paper because I never study the chapters in the book...So yeah..That's most of my things that happened recently. It's kind of late now so I gotta go. See ya guys!

PS I love Jay Chou new song!! Woots!

In A Nutshell

Saturday, August 25, 2007

I'm just going to summarise what happened this week.

Today I went to Tampines GV to watch The Bourne Ultimatum. Director Paul Greengrass impresses me with his Handheld Camera technique. I heard that some people felt nauseous after viewing TBU but thank God, I didn't feel any. Throughout the movie, it is very exciting and has tension written all over it. And the action was executed nicely. I like the part where Bourne was fighting with Desh, one of his adversaries. The way he punched that African guy was so intense and violent. This is one smart spy thriller and one of this year best films but it ain't on my favourite list, it's just favourable.

Yeah so that's today...Yesterday I had band practice as usual. We were introduced to some of the new pieces we're going to play on Viva La next year. We had Into The Stars(Heard only the recording, it's bloody awesome) and some song similar to the Pentanonism of A Romantic Charm and the last song was The Calvarymen of Prairie.

We had to play Jay Chou's song Ju Hua Tai, arranged by Doreen, and hell I don't know what is wrong with me. I couldn't sight-read as good as last time and Sir nearly scold me for not being able to play well. Even my junior Oscar is doing better than me in sight-reading...I don't think I'm that bad, it's like my condition is not good on that day.

When Sir left, I was assigned to supervise the Sec1s when they are learning theory from Sonia and Zoer. Now I truly understand what it is like to teach Sec1s. My God, they were so damn chatty and noisy, I had to shout a few times to quiet them down so as to help Sonia and Zoer to teach them. I nearly wanted to shout at them and say they only left only a few weeks to their Grade 3 Theory and they are still stuck at Grade 2. It would help if they quiet down and PAY ATTENTION.

That was band stuff so yeah..Life's pretty busy right now, and I've yet to finish the QM task today because I basically slacked the whole day. Seriously speaking, I have to work hard in my studies and I don't think I can manage it because I still have band things to do. Now I'm really worried sick about my jobs and tasks. I don't really know how to handle all these things. I know what I'm suppose to do, but I can't seem to adjust my time to the many things I have.

Thank God there's a week for me to rest but I don't think I can rest as probably there would be remedial lessons and going to watch some idiotic musical in the Esplanade. Exams are coming soon and soon, the school will move, which means Band matters again...I really hope to have a well-earned rest after the O Levels...

Haiz, I mustn't think much otherwise I would think of crazy thoughts again...so see ya! SLEEPY TIME!

Corrinne May's Beautiful Seed

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Finally the long awaited Corrinne May's album is finally here! I've been hooked to her music since I listened to her previous song on a Channel 5 show called "Chase". Later I bought her album, "Safe In A Crazy World". Though it may seems weird that a guy would buy a woman's album, but hey, for those who really appreciate all kinds of music, this is one album they got to buy. For me, I don't stick to one genre all the time. My genre varies from hard rock and metal to soft and a little of classical.

This album is very soothing to the ears, that you can even sleep and listen to it at the same time. And it's the sweetness in May's voice and melody that puts a smile on your face even when you're feeling angry at someone. It's just fabulous music! So I recommen this album to those who love soft soothing music people, especially girls *winks*...Hahaha..I just like this album and I feel she has out outdone herself..Good job Corrinne May!

List...
1. Love Song for #1
2. Shelter
3. On the Side of Me
4. Five Loaves and Two Fishes
5. Beautiful Seed
6. Leaving
7. Scars (Stronger for Life)
8. City of Angels
9. My Little Nephew
10. Slow Down
11. Green-Eyed Monster
12. On My Way
13. 33
14. Shelter (Cherry Blossom Edition)

NDP 2007

Friday, August 10, 2007

It has finally come to an beatiful end. The NDP 2007 is officially over! For some who don't know, I had taken part in the NDP this year in the item called "Singa City"...Really hope you guys enjoyed the show because I feel that this was our best performance we ever had. And performing on that floating platform last night, I didn't feel any aching pain in my arms while carrying my Crane prop as I was very into the item itself. The spirit we had definitely shot through the roof, and man it was a damn exciting event last night.

This year I got to know more people than just my group itself. There are these 4 amazing people who I met over the couple of months and they never fail to make me smile. Let me start off with Alvin. This is his second time joining the NDP as a SOKA performer. He's a very nice guy and never fails to care for the people around him. Though his job a property agent is a very busy job, he still makes it for most of the practices. And I'm sure that he makes a very good husband too..Yup yup!

Next on the list is Jia Xuan and Hella. I decided to do both because I find their personality almost similar. Both of them are now adults...DUH..But I'm not gonna reveal the age as I have kept a promise to one of them. Both of them are very kind and caring people and they are really nice to me.

Finally, Vanessa. She is only 17 years old and is very enthusiastic SOKA believer..I think I used the word right..I find her to be a very warm girl with a big heart as she is very caring towards her peers and encourages them. She is also quite humourous with her jokes and she gives good advice and is a very understanding girl.

I like that because normally my friend see my scar on the left arm, they would go "Why you go carve that words out?! So stupid..." But she didn't say that...That surprised me a lot. She only asked softly "You carve not pain ah?" then graze the scar with subtle movement...That was really unforgettable. And for that, I really liked her as a friend.

So this year NDP is really another great experience for me. But sadly I've decided not to join next year..Because my O Levels are coming and I don't wish to let NDP eat up my time again..So I want to thank these people for giving their time and care to me, I really appreciate it. THANK YOU!

Space: That's what I need!

Monday, August 06, 2007

I'm sure students and parents out there know the meaning of privacy but what parents don't understand why they should keep out of our own matters. We, teenagers, need our space for our life, if they keep cramming all those naggings into our throats, we don't have a chance to say or do what we want. Parents are like the know-it-all because they claimed they've been in our shoes before and therefore, has the right to tell us what to do but it's a whole lot of bullshit. Yes they've been there before but have they been in the new generation? I supposed not..

And this rant about privacy is about my story I'm going to blog tonight.

I don't know how and when did my mom know that I was sleeping in class during A-Maths period and got caught for Mr Ow for being out of class, I was out helping my chinese teacher to move her laptop by the way...I'm just so frustrated and angry. Other kids don't have their mothers raiding their privacy and yet mine was raped by my mom. It's like, "Hey! You're not suppose to know that!" It's my life we're talking about here and she KNOWS everything. Hell she said she had a snitch too.

Mom, if you're reading this, I don't think you will read it anyway...Please leave me alone and let me do my own stuff. There are some things that you don't understand and you claim you do but you don't. It's like I'm asking you how much you earn for a month and you'll shut up and say it's not our matter to worry about. So the same theory applies in this situation too. If you care less about what I do in school, the happier I will be.

I know it's wrong to sleep in class, but you got to give the guy a break! Mr Neo took bloody FOUR periods for AM..Who wouldn't be sick of it..And that guy is so lame! I really can't cope with him teaching...I really hope he can slow down for some parts in the Maths topic...and please stop telling me to revise at home because it doesn't work when I don't understand a shit the book is writing...or his writing...

This is for the mother-fucking snitch. If you ever come across my blog and saw this entry, you are in for a bloody night.

Stuvie Day

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Woke up in the morning at around 8am and then slept a little longer, so I woke up at 9:30 plus and got ready to go out to watch Simpsons Movie with Su Juen.

We arranged to meet at TM's Long John Silver but she was late and I thought I was the one being late...LOL. As she went to order her food, I went to buy the tickets and I saw one of the alumnus from PRSS Band. She was there selling tickets and I happened to see her. We had a small chat and she asked who was drum major and stuff...

After lunch Su Juen and I went to Music Junction to do some window shopping then we headed to the cinemas with the nachos combo just bought.

In a nutshell, this has some beautiful animation and amazing writing. The jokes just keep on coming on and on and once you start laughing, it's hard to stop. The amount of Homer's stupidity is enough as too much would ruin the show and everything in this movie works. Now I've kind of grown fond of the charactors and I simply love everybody in it. Tom Hanks cameo was probably one of the best part in the movie. LOL. Blowing up Springfield would require to take them off the map so they had a scene where a woman was driving with a GPS system telling here she is and the machine says "Next stop on the map, nothing" or something like that.

After that I had to go for tuition and Su Juen went to Eunos to meet up with her friends. In the centre, I was sleeping through for like 15 minutes. It was when I dropped my pen on the floor then I woke up with my mind crystal clear.

Now I'm back safe and sound. Sleep time is here, so good night everybody!
