American Idol

Saturday, May 24, 2008

Finally after many weeks of singing, we finally have the newest American Idol crowned on the stage of Nokia Theatre in LA. It was tough competition for both David Archuleta and Cook but as Simon Cowell said, what we have witnessed from Archuleta is a knockout. Personally I still love what Cook did on that night.
After many performances by our top 12 contestants and some comedy skits by Mike Myers and Ben Stiller and gang(Best skit I've seen in a long time), Ryan Seacrest crowned David Cook as the new American Idol.

The pictue you see above is, of course, David Cook. That's when he sang the winning song "The Time of My Life". Great song but I don't think it's his style. Anyway, the song hit number 1 on the best selling list in iTunes. I'm going to end this entry soon but let me share with you guys some of the songs he did that I found brilliant.

Story-Telling Time!(1)

Monday, May 19, 2008

I think I going to name all these posts regarding about bits and pieces of my life "Story-Telling Time!" because, really, all these are based on true stories of my life.

So what happened lately? Uhh...My mid year exam results kind of sucked. I got only 25 points for L1R4. Seriously, which school would accept me? But I'm proud of my Physics results, I got an A2 for it. I could have gotten better, just that a stupid silly mistake cost me my marks. So during the June Holidays, I got to review my attitude toward my other subjects and better make major improvements before all Hell break loose(wait a minute, got a bug on my screen...damn I killed it and now pieces of it are stuck on the screen...anway..) in term 3. Lessons til 4 in the afternoon and PE is right after that?! You got to be kidding me!

So these are the few things I got to do in June Holidays
1. RESIST ANY FUCKING TEMPTATIONS.
2. Do revisions for ALL my subjects and allocate time for them too
3. Must heavily moninter my section's stroking and playing. Priority is Percussion Ensemble
4. Strive for perfection in my playing, especially Calvarymen of Priarie...Alumni you got to help me on this one please...
5. Pray to Gonhonzon every morning that I will pass my O Levels with high flying colours and Viva La V will be a great sucess for the Band

Band Practice sucked last week, partly because we haven't practised in a while. Mind you, it was nearly a month and we were all focusing on our Mid Year Exams. Super Mario was a pleasant surprise. I taught the recruits Theory, which was hell for me because I'm a really down-to-business type of person and entertaining and teaching at the same time is just not my thing. Cheryl, an Alumni, helped me out. She had a bit of that Su Juen personality in her. Anyway, thank you so much Cheryl for helping me!...though you won't be able to read this.

I spent my weekends doing a little bit of MT and relaxing most of the time. I went to my sister's house on Sunday night. We wanted to watch No Country For Old Men but it was way too late for us as my sisters, brother-in-law and my cousin were playing Mahjong for more than 3 hours from I think from 12am to 3am. As time passes, they begin to lose their sanity by uttering some funny crap from time to time. Cousin was all "Zi Mo"(touching yourself but in Mahjong sense it means winning by getting one of the tiles) after seeing Mariah Carey on MTV channel because in her music videos, she was really touching herself all over the place. Finally everyone went to bed at like 4am.

Bro-in-law and cousin left the house this morning though they didn't have work but they got some thing to do, I don't know how to put it. So the rest of us finally woke up at 1pm and we had MacDonald's for lunch and we watched No Country For Old Men while devouring our lunch. After NCFOM, elder sister wanted to watch another show so we had Horton after like 15 minutes, like an interval between two movies. I slept afterwards til 7pm because I felt too tired to operate in the afternoon. We had our dinner together with bro-in-law and went back home...so..

Now here I am, blogging about what happened a few days back. Hope you guys won't be bothered by the long entry..so erm...let me add some colours to reduce your stress of reading this post......(3 minutes later) ahh I hope it helps...yeah I'm going off now...Bye!
