Pasir Ris Pie: Band Camp (Part 1)

Thursday, March 15, 2007

I don't mean it as the sick American Pie movies where you have those sex-related stuff and NO, we didn't do anything dirty except Farhan did a dance in the guy's toilet, only wearing his underpants.

Mr Denise Sim, the percussion instructor, came in the morning and joking throughout the whole day because he can't get some things done so he jokes "Get me my water...Ma, my medicine please..." He always uses it whenever he feels fed up. Then Percussion finally went for lunch at 12pm while the others had lunch at 11:00am. Su Juen ate with us, then Oscar had no choice to eat because Su Juen took his lunch..Haha

The Band arrived in Henderson Secondary School and we were the unfornate ones and we were the first band to perform. Much to my horror, I still can't used to the shiny new glockenspiel. And we still failed miserably at that fucking music exchange AGAIN. Choon Yi was crying very hard as her solo part didn't came out good. I was sitting behind her and I felt it in her heart, the desire to get that bloody Gold With Honour. Sir was comforting her, telling her not to cry anymore as it is already over and some other stuff I couldn't catch...

We got back and Sir had a very long speech and I have to say that it was the best inspiring speech I ever heard from him. He's like the musically-modern Martin Luther King Jr. with his "I Have A Dream" Speech. Fuck, I'll be damned not to get it into my heart. And I'll be fucked if the band don't get united and get that gold. I want that gold. I'm not giving up already as Sir and the others are not giving up on us. WE CAN DO IT.

Then later after our dinner, we practise outside so as to get the sound right when we're outdoors. I don't know about the sound but I knew I had done my part, some parts are wrong though...But I don't care, I'm gonna work on it until the last minute to SYF Competition and I have to break that nervousness barrier so I can perform my best and contribute to the music of the band. The Band I treasure...

So I gonna end it here, first part of the Band Camp...Hoping to have a great practice tomorrow...Bye!
